F C Boult was probably related to the painter of shooting, hunting and military equestrian portraits, A S Boult (op. 1815 – 1853). The former had a similar painting style to the earlier artist and he also specialised in equestrian, sporting and coaching scenes and both exhibited works from London addresses.

He exhibited a painting at the Royal Society of British Artists at Suffolk Street in 1885 titled “Gone Away” and other recorded works include a portrait of a hunter in a stable with hound puppies, dated 1877 and another called “Over the Last Point” in 1895.
