This artist was born in Paris but lived all his life in Vetheuil. He was a landscape and genre painter and was a pupil of Gabriel Pierre Marie Bouret and also Norbert Goeneutte. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1880 onwards. His work is typical of the late Impressionist movement of the latter half of the 19th century.
