Jacapo Crivelli was an animal painter working in Milan at the beginning of the eighteenth century. He specialised in bird paintings which were particularly popular with the Court of Parma, for whom he worked. He was enormously successful and his work is typical of the Italian style of the period with its free use of brushstroke and bold colouring.

Jacopo was the son of the equally famous Milanese animal painter Angelo-Maria Crivelli, who became known as "Il Crivellone".
